What's Actually in Ruthless Gum? A Full Ingredient Breakdown
No proprietary blends, no mystery ratios. Here's exactly what's in every piece and why.
Introduction
We get asked about the ingredient list more than almost anything else, and honestly, we like that. It means people are paying attention to what they're putting in their body instead of just buying whatever's got the loudest label.
So here it is, ingredient by ingredient, with no spin. Some of what's in the formula is doing heavy lifting. Some of it plays a smaller supporting role. We'd rather tell you which is which than let you assume everything's pulling equal weight.
“If we can't explain why something's in the formula, it doesn't go in the formula.”
— Henry, Co-Founder
Caffeine, 35mg per piece
This is the ingredient doing most of the work. It's what gives you the alertness and focus most people reach for the product for in the first place, dosed at a level that's measurable and consistent rather than the rough guesswork of a cup of coffee.
Beta-Alanine, 50mg per piece
We want to be straight about this one. Beta-alanine is well researched for endurance, but the studies showing a real performance benefit use daily doses in the multiple grams, built up over weeks. Fifty milligrams in a single piece isn't going to get you there on its own, and we're not going to pretend otherwise. It's in the formula as part of the wider profile, not as a standalone performance claim.
Taurine, 50mg per piece
Same honesty here. Taurine shows up in a lot of sports nutrition research, but the amounts used in trials are far higher than what's in one piece of gum. We include it because it belongs in a well rounded formula, not because we're claiming a single piece will transform your session.
Vitamin B6 and B12
These two are more straightforward. Both contribute to normal energy yielding metabolism and support the reduction of tiredness and fatigue, which is the kind of quiet, unglamorous work that doesn't get talked about much but still matters.
What We Won't Claim
We won't tell you a single piece is packed with clinical strength doses of everything on the label. Most products with a long ingredient list are quietly making the same call we are, some ingredients are there in a meaningful dose, others round out the formula. We'd rather say that plainly than dress it up.
If You're Wondering About Dosing
- Caffeine content scales simply. One piece is 35mg, two is 70mg, and so on.
- Beta-alanine and taurine are part of the formula's overall profile rather than something we'd suggest chasing a specific dose of through gum alone.
- Want more caffeine for a longer or harder session? An extra piece is completely fine.

The claims we make around B6 and B12 aren't invented, they're backed by EFSA's scientific opinions on both vitamins (EFSA Journal, 2010), which set out the specific conditions those claims can be used under. For anyone wanting to look into the beta-alanine and taurine research itself, we'd point you to the systematic review on beta-alanine dosing and duration (Frontiers in Physiology, 2021) and Waldron et al.'s 2018 meta-analysis on taurine and endurance performance (Sports Medicine).
